The Pomsky

The Pomsky is a cross between the Pomeranian Spitz and a Siberian Husky.

Currently it remains one of the rarest and most sought after domestic animals.

These animals are unlike any race. Each new litter is different from each other and each puppy is unique.

To date, the popularity of this breed is increasing, in particular, in European countries and the United States, it is a new fashion trend in the world market of exclusive dogs.

Description and characteristic

The Pomsky is very similar to the Husky, but smaller. It can be white, fawn, gray, brown or black. The Pomsky has a well-built body despite its small size. His head is well proportioned to his body. The eyes of the Pomsky can be light or dark and, like the Husky from which it comes, they can be minnows, that is to say different colors. Its very full coat can be rather long and woolly or semi-long.

His origin

The Pomsky is a dog created very recently which knows a significant development in the United States and in England. It comes from the cross of a Husky and a dwarf Spitz. The Pomsky has three variants: 25% Husky and 75% Dwarf Spitz, 50% Husky and 50% Dwarf Spitz (most common variant) and 75% Husky and 25% Dwarf Spitz.

His character and behavior

Given its recent creation, the components of the character and behavior of the Pomsky are not yet all very well known. We do not know well for example his needs in physical expenditure while the races from which he comes are very dynamic and energetic. However, we already know that the Pomsky is an excellent pet for children from the moment they respect it.

In the same way, if the Pomsky is used young, it does not pose problems to cohabit with other animals. The Pomsky still appears as a quiet dog, easy going and cheerful. He is an intelligent dog, very loyal to his owners and who loves to be cuddled. The Pomsky is also a good watchdog thanks to his loud barking when he is in the presence of a foreign person.

Its needs

Even though it is small, the Pomsky needs regular maintenance, especially during the moulting period, because its coat is thick and dense. It is a dog that adapts well to apartment life from the moment its owners walk regularly and for a long time.

His food

As with the Husky, the Pomsky's intestines are quite fragile. It does not support a too rich and too fatty food. As with all dogs, homemade food is preferable to industrial food, even if the latter is of very good quality and suitable for Pomsky.

Pomsky's health

The Pomsky is a robust dog like the Husky from which it comes. In particular, it is very resistant to extreme temperatures. But the lack of perspective on this breed does not yet identify if the Pomsky is sensitive to particular health problems.
